How Firefox can help you safeguard your Identity?
Firefox is a wonderful web browser. It is not only fast, but it is also safe. Unlike the popular Internet Explorer, Firefox has very few security vulnerability. Therefore, I recommend using Firefox web browser to access the internet. Although, Firefox in itself is quite safe for browsing, I recommend using the following plug-ins
NoScript
This plugin stops unwanted scripts from running on your computer, which means the chances of getting spyware, malware, and other malicious scripts on your system will be almost nil. The default setting of NoScript is to disable every script on the webpage. You will need to manually enable the scripts for the website you trust.
NoScript adds a blocked S icon (see picture) in the status bar. You need to click this to enable or disable the script. You can also chose “temporarily allow xyz.com” option from the pull-up menu that comes after clicking the blocked S icon.

Check for identity information
At the beginning of the address bar, Firefox shows the identity information as well as SSL certificate details (see picture) of the website you are visiting. You must check this before entering any critical information.

BetterPrivacy
This is another plugin that helps you protect your privacy and identity from tracking cookies that stays in your system long after you have viewed the website. It also help you work around flash cookies and other Local shared objects.
SSL Blacklist 4.0
Many hackers use MD5 algorithm to get an SSL certificate. This plugin checks for weak and revoked certificate. You must install this Firefox plugin, if identity theft is your concern.
There are several other Firefox plugins that will help you keep your identity safe on the internet. In the coming articles, we shall have a close look on them.
